Paddy the Wanderer Kit – SPECIAL

Paddy was a ginger and brown Airedale terrier who became a waterfront identity in Wellington in the 1930s. As a familiar sight on the waterfront he was cared for by the watersiders, harbour board workers, seamen and taxi drivers; all of whom contributed towards his annual dog licence A memorial drinking fountain that included two drinking bowls for dogs was erected in Paddy’s honour in 1945 at the Queen’s Wharf gates.
