New Zealand Fantail Crewel Embroidery Kit

The Fantail or Piwakawaka is most easily recognised by its distinctive long tail and its erratic swooping flight as it hunts for insects. It is one of the best known indigenous birds of New Zealand. The manuka is a highly aromatic shrub found throughout New Zealand. Worked in several different stitches on material. Size of stitched area 23cms (9ins) square. New Zealand Pohutakawa Crewel Embroidery Kit

The Pohutukawa is known as the New Zealand Christmas Tree as it flowers profusely in midsummer. It grows well on the seacoast, mostly in the North Island, and is a striking feature of the landscape at Christmas time. Bees help with the pollination (although the bee shown is not a native!)
