I was inspired by a photo of the quilt Fun in the Sun, by New Zealand quilter Donna Ward. The variations in the frangipani flowers challenged me to convert them into canvas work. Stitching the design made me think of Pacific Island holidays in the sun.

Designed by Mary Self. A Biscornu is a small ornamental pincushion. It has 8 sides and is usually secured in the centre of the top and the bottom, to give a small depression. The word itself comes from the French, meaning something that has an irregular form, with projections. I have just re-worked the design in our Strand yarn. The pattern will give 3 different thread options.
